NO ROOM FOR RACISTS IN QUEENS – This Saturday, Oct 24 @ 12 noon

Date: Saturday, October 24

Time: 12 noon

Location: Queens Center Mall

We’re taking back #QualityOfLife from racists who believe graffiti and garbage clean ups value more than black lives, our immigrant brothers and sisters and our homeless neighbors.

One of these such figures is our local councilmember, Robert Holden, who recently introduced Intro 2116, a bill that if enacted will repeal the chokehold ban, which prohibits police officers from using a chokehold or compressing a person’s diaphragm while making or attempting to make an arrest.

This bill has the support of the NYC Sergeants Benevolent Association (SBA) and the NYC Police Benevolent Association (PBA), which has endorsed and campaigns for Trump’s re-election.

The bill is sponsored by the city’s most conservative elected officials: CM Joe Borelli, a Republican representing parts of Staten Island; CM Chaim Deutsch, who represents parts of South-Central Brooklyn; CM Eric Ulrich, a Republican who represents neighborhoods in southwestern Queens; and CM Steven Matteo, a Republican who represents parts of Staten Island.

Elected officials like Robert Holden are dangerous to our communities.  Holden believes that New York City should NOT be a sanctuary city, he works directly with the Police Benevolent Association to lobby for policies harmful to communities of color, and he’s constantly vilified and stigmatized our homeless neighbors.  He is dangerous and we must fight back against his hate towards our most vulnerable neighbors.

We’re marching to say we won’t stand for racists politicians or their racist constituents. Please join us.
