Take Action to Extend the Eviction Moratorium!

The Supreme Court has rolled back the strongest protection NYS tenants had under the COVID 19 Emergency Eviction and Foreclosure Prevention Act, more commonly known as the “eviction moratorium.”  This roll back means that the thousands of tenants that have submitted hardship declaration forms self-attesting they have experienced a hardship due to COVID 19 are in danger of eviction.  Landlords can now challenge the validity of these self-attestations due to this horrible decision from the Supreme Court. This puts our neighbors at risk of eviction and we need to do something about it NOW!

WHAT CAN YOU DO  to protect yourself and your neighbors from eviction?

FIRST, sign THIS PETITION NOW and tell ALL your friends and neighbors to please sign it if they care about protecting our neighbors from eviction.

SECOND, please call your local reps to let them know to GET BACK INTO SESSION and EXTEND the eviction moratorium.  HERE you can see who your assembly rep is and HERE you can see your senate rep. You can use this link from the Housing Justice for All Coalition to make your calls or if you’re in Ridgewood, Maspeth, Middle Village and Glendale you can use this guide to call your local reps:
